Feasibility & Advice

We offer expert feasibility studies and advice at the earliest stages of your project—so you can move forward with confidence, clarity, and the right information to avoid delays or unexpected costs down the line.
Whether you’re at concept stage, preparing a planning application, or considering site constraints, our early input helps identify opportunities, manage risks, and guide design development with technical confidence.
We regularly work with: architects, planning consultants, developers, builders and contractors.

Feasibility & Advice Service

Our advice is tailored to your project and might include:

  • Initial review of site constraints (e.g. topography, soil, watercourses)
  • Site visit or site walkover
  • Drone survey of site
  • Drainage feasibility: infiltration potential, discharge options, SuDS suitability
  • Flood risk screening
  • Advice on planning expectations and policy requirements
  • Guidance on required surveys or assessments (e.g. BRE365, FRA)
  • Input into RIBA Stage 1–2 concept design
  • Technical support for site appraisals and pre-application

We work closely with architects, planning consultants, developers, and contractors to ensure that drainage and flood risk strategies are considered early and aligned with sustainable, practical outcomes.

Getting civil engineering input early as possible in the process can;

  • save time and money by avoiding redesign later in the process
  • Help shape a planning strategy that’s more likely to succeed
  • Identify risks before they become problems
  • Clarify if infiltration, attenuation, or connection to public sewers is feasible
  • Inform better design and layout choices from day one
